Funding for this year’s event has come from local sources and a huge thank you goes out to all of the local businesses, schools, colleges and volunteering groups who have come together with substantial sponsorship and hard work to make this event possible. Ali would like to say a special thank you to her team of amazing volunteers, who without their hard and very much appreciated work to help organise this event it simply wouldn’t happen.

I’ve got GREAT NEWS!…Stamford Christmas Festival is safe for another year!
A merger has been formed to co-host Stamford Christmas Festival 2011, on Sunday 11th December between 10am and 4pm throughout the streets of Stamford Town Centre, jointly by Stamford Town Partnership CIC and Stamford Town Council. Without previously granted core funding from SKDC, or the ability to apply for other community grants on an already successful and existing event, STP was unable to commit to sole ownership of this event.
I think this is a very positive decision and move forward, showing support by STC for the work that STP have been doing with regard to events in the town over the past three years (Stamford Christmas Festival, Festival of History and Stamford Feast) and on a personal note I am very happy to be asked to work with both STP and STC on the planning and delivery of SCF11 and look forward to another very successful event for the town.
Once again this event will bring fun and excitement to visitors and the community alike, along with the much needed boost to the local economy, with a huge line up of activities will be on offer on the day. The first meeting of SCF11 Event Management Team will be held this evening (Wednesday 6th July) where the proposed plans and budget for this exciting and prosperous event for the town’s economy will be discussed. I wish to thank my team of volunteers who work so hard on these events with me for their invaluable efforts and support and look forward to working with them again for the good of Stamford.
